The person who created a duplicate website for filling e-memo (E Memo) has been arrested by the Crime Branch. Sudhanshu alias Chiku Mishra (25), who cheated drivers and the city police of lakhs of rupees by creating a fake website similar to the official website of the city police. He is originally a resident of Pathar village under Madhupur police station area of ​​Deodhar district. The accused confessed during interrogation that he has been doing this work since January 2023. Friend Saptam Kumar, a resident of Koro village in Deodhar district, is also involved in this. Both of them have collected lakhs of rupees from many people through fake links and QR codes. The accused used to send fake links and QR codes to the drivers. On payment of which the amount went to Paltan Das’s account. Paltan Das used to take 20 percent commission and give the remaining amount to both of them. The number from which the link was sent was broken and thrown away a few days after the work was completed. The Gujarat Police logo was also set in the mobile number.

Learned this trick from a person from Kolkata

The accused confessed that Rajesh, a resident of Kolkata, West Bengal, was also harassing the Ahmedabad city police and people. He learned these fraud tricks from Rajesh, a resident of Shahpurji Polanji, New Town Extension Area 3, Kolkata. He also worked with him for fifteen days.

Threats in the name of Traffic Police Collection Department

The accused confessed that after finding the mobile numbers of the vehicles on which e-challans were issued, he and his friend used to call and threaten the owners of the vehicles, posing as employees of the Ahmedabad Traffic Police Collection Department. The people who fell into this trap were cheated by sending fake links and QR codes.
