Sabarmati Arts and Commerce College located in Sabarmati area of Ahmedabad has put up a board that we should not take admission there, but take admission in another college. Such a board has been put up by the college regarding the staff shortage and the dilapidated college.

The college said, “To inform all students and parents, there is no principal in our institution. 22 posts in the non-teaching staff have been vacant for the last ten years and currently one peon and one clerk are non-teaching staff. Therefore, the admission process of students, examination process, and grading process cannot be done in the college. Also, since the building is from 1968, the building has become dilapidated (from the inside) and is in a dangerous condition. Since the institution has no other source of income, the building of this college cannot be repaired. In this situation, if you want to ensure the future of your son or daughter, you are requested not to place them in our institution.”

A board has been put up at the entrance that if you want a good future for your children, take admission in another college. The college has put up a board because there is a huge shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff. There is no one to teach the children. The college has filed a complaint on the PM portal regarding the shortage of staff and the dilapidated college. The PMO has asked the Chief Secretary to take action in this matter. However, no action has been taken. This year too, the university has come to allot admission to more than 150 students in a dilapidated college without staff. The college has no principal, no non-teaching staff, not enough professors and the college also lacks grants. Since it is a grant-in college, the college cannot charge more fees. Due to the lack of professors, English and Gujarati medium students are studying in the same class.
