Ahmedabad City Police Commissioner declares ‘No Drone Fly Zone’ from February 8 to 11

The Urban-20 program under the G-20 Summit is to be held in Ahmedabad city from 08/02/2023 to 11/02/2023. In this situation, dignitaries from home and abroad are expected to attend. In such a situation, special care has been taken to prevent any undesirable incident by anti-national organizations, terrorists and anti-social elements. As a precautionary measure, the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner has declared a no-drone fly zone from 8 to 11 February. If we talk about the drone category, it includes equipment such as unmanned remote-controlled aircraft or equipment such as manned small-sized aircraft or equipment used in aero sports.

This decision has been taken keeping in mind the security of the dignitaries attending the G-20 as well as the possibility of harming the law and order. Ahmedabad City Police Commissioner Sanjay Srivastava further informed that this rule will be applicable in all areas of Ahmedabad city from 08-02-2023 to 11-02-2023 under Section-144 of the Criminal Procedure Act, 1973 (No. 2 of 1974). Any person violating or violating this order will be liable to punishment under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. Under this order, all officers holding the rank of Joint Additional Commissioner of Police to PSI serving in the Ahmedabad Commissionerate will be charged under IPC against those violating this notification. Authorization is given to file a complaint under Section 188.
