The administration has installed an LRAD (Long-Range Acoustic Device) device at Delhi’s Singhu border. It produces a sound that creates a kind of unease in the crowd.

The conflict between farmers and the central government over the demand for a new law on minimum support price does not seem to be abating. To stop the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ march, the police have tightened security at all the borders of Delhi. The administration has installed an LRAD (Long-Range Acoustic Device) device on Delhi’s Singhu border. It produces a sound that creates a kind of restlessness in the crowd. Due to which people also lose their ability to hear. Farmers can become deaf due to the sound of this machine.
The LRAD system was first developed by the US Army to combat Al Qaeda. The LRAD system is used during anti-terror operations.
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association had issued a warning about this a few days ago, saying that this can cause problems like deafness and migraines in people. Children and the elderly can be more harmed by it. However, the army and police of many countries around the world have purchased it and are used to control crowds during movements.

Today is the second day of the ‘Dilli Chalo’ march.
Today is the second day of the farmers’ Delhi march. Farmers are trying to march towards Delhi again today. In such a situation, the police have started firing tear gas shells on the farmers since morning. Considering the seriousness of the matter, Delhi Police and paramilitary forces are deployed in large numbers. If you look at it, there was a huge commotion at the Singhu border yesterday. Till late night, the agitating farmers continued to move around the border and the police fired tear gas shells. Yesterday too, the police fired tear gas shells to disperse the farmers. There was a clash between the police and the farmers, in which many people including the DSP were injured.
No agreement between the central government and the farmers
The talks between the government and the farmers went on till late night and remained inconclusive. The farmers first plan to gather at the border near Delhi and then decide on the future strategy. The government says that the talks will continue, while on the other hand the farmers are also ready for further talks.
Talking about the farmers’ agitation, Union Minister Arjun Munda said that the two talks with the farmers have not remained inconclusive. More discussions are needed for a solution.
