IPL’s hot favorite team Gujarat Titans is embroiled in a copyright dispute over a Gujarati song.
A petition was filed in the Gandhinagar Commercial Court claiming copyright infringement for playing Gujarati songs during IPL matches. Under which the court ordered the team not to play the song anymore.

Gujarat Titans filed a case for copyright infringement
In the Gandhinagar Commercial Court, Gujarat Titans were accused of playing both the songs “Hello Maro Kochone” and “Mara Palavano” without permission. Both these songs were played during the IPL match at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The petitioner told the court that both songs cannot be used for any commercial activity. Also, since there is no permission to play these songs and there is no revenue sharing of any kind, this is a violation of copyright, so a complaint was filed against them in court.
GT will no longer play the song in the match
The copyright organization appointed by the Government of India filed a claim in the Gandhinagar Commercial Court. In this case, the Gujarat Titans assured the court that the team will no longer play these two songs during the match. After the team gave the assurance, the Gandhinagar Court disposed of the application. Songs are played by DJs during the match.
