The Gujarat High Court will hold an important hearing on the 3rd of next month in the defamation case related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree. After the court’s decision, it will be decided whether Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leader Sanjay Singh will get relief in this matter or will the problems increase. A defamation case is going on against both the leaders in the Metropolitan Court of Ahmedabad.

Both were summoned in this case. Against this, both the leaders went to the sessions court and said that the defamation case along with the summons was legally wrong, but the sessions court rejected all the arguments. After this, the High Court was approached on behalf of both the leaders.

The petition of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leader Sanjay Singh was heard in the court of Justice JC Doshi. Supreme Court lawyer Rebecca John represented the petitioners in the virtual court. On which the judge has issued a notice to the state government and Gujarat University. The court has fixed November 3, 2023 as the date for the hearing.
Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh argue that Gujarat University has been formed by the state government. In such a situation, the university comes under the state and the state is not defamed. The second argument is that a defamation case cannot be filed. The third important argument given is that the defamation case filed by the university is not proper and legal.

If the Senate takes decisions of the university instead of the government, has the Senate given the power to the Registrar to file a defamation case? Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh have presented new arguments.
What is this whole matter?
The Central Information Commission (CIC) had passed an order to provide information about PM Modi’s degree. Against which the Gujarat University had moved the High Court. The High Court had rejected the CIC order in late March this year and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Kejriwal.

હાAfter the E-Court decision, both Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh held a press conference. Gujarat University alleged that both the leaders had said such things in their press conference. Due to which the reputation of the university was tarnished. After this, the university’s registrar Piyush Patel filed a defamation case.
