Violent clashes and stone pelting in Jharkhand on Mahashivratri; Section 144 imposed

Two parties came face to face in Palamu district of Jharkhand. The dispute started over the construction of a Toran Darwaza on Mahashivratri. The brawl started on Tuesday but took a violent turn on Wednesday.

Two parties came face to face in Palamu district of Jharkhand. A dispute had started over the construction of the Toran gate on Mahashivratri. The brawl started on Tuesday but took a violent turn on Wednesday. It is alleged that some people from a particular community tore down the Toran gate built for Mahashivratri and threw it in the garbage. This became the main reason for the dispute.

Dispute during Mahashivratri preparations

The case is from Panki block of Palamu district. Mahashivratri is on February 18. Along with this, the gate of the toran was being built. Tension arose between the two parties regarding this toran. On Wednesday, the dispute turned into a violent clash. The two parties came face to face. A fight broke out and then stone pelting took place. Dozens of people were reportedly injured in the incident. The police somehow managed to calm the people down by explaining them, but the situation remained tense.

More than 100 soldiers deployed in Panki town

According to the information received, more than 100 soldiers have been deployed in the city to restore peace in Panki. Police from several police stations including Tarhsi, Pipratand, Lesliganj have reached here. Many senior police officers including the SP of the district have taken shelter. It is said that some policemen have also been injured in this incident. According to the information received, District Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Sinha and DC have rushed to the spot. Thana police are deployed in this area. Prohibitory orders have been imposed in Panki at present.

According to the information received regarding this incident, one party has accused the other party of uprooting the toran and throwing it in the garbage. Stones were pelted from the roof of the mosque on protest.
